- "Mark was terrific and he played several times for our recent large snowed-in convention group at JW Marriott in Savannah. Mark was only supposed to play twice, but due to the weather circumstances he played three cocktail receptions and in our hotel bar takeover as well. Our attendees were absolutely delighted with his playing and singing and Mark's innate ability to engage his audiences and his enthusiasm and talents."

- “Mark is VERY talented and was more than capable to play ANY song from any genre that was asked of him. We were MORE than pleased with his personality, his interaction with our clients and his musical abilities! He is a great guy and a 5 star hire!! We WILL be hiring him in the future for sure."
- I hired Mark for a sophisticated party at the Madison Club and he met all my expectations. He played during cocktail hour and he did a great job with very little guidance on my end. I highly recommend him. Great pianist, very professional and friendly.
- "Mark played an extraordinary 2 hour cocktail hour, beyond my wildest dreams. He put everyone at ease after a long ceremony and was the perfect precursor to the dinner reception. He even had my Uncle singing New York,New York which everyone loved. He played songs for the younger generation as well as sang some old songs for my great grandmother. She was thrilled." Robin.
-"Mark was an amazing addition to our daughters New Years Eve wedding! He played for all our guests during cocktail hour. He graciously accepted requests, had many people around the piano singing with him and they loved every minute of it! His selection of songs was endless. Family and friends are still talking about his music abilities and his outgoing, lovely personality. What a great entertainer he is. I would invite him to be a part of any gathering. He is truly amazing"! Mary K.
- “His piano playing is unbelievably great, as well as his "presence" in the room. He played a full three hours with no breaks, singing to the audience within a variety of musical genres from Sinatra/Martin to Billy Joel to Elton John and including the Beatles and Steely Dan.
The man can play to any room”
- Jon W. Rogers, Nightlife Chicago
"We loved Mark’s enthusiasm for our private party and he played beautifully for our guests. We will absolutely hire Mark again for our next private party in our home.
Mark Wilhelms, a highly accomplished pianist and singer from Chicago, is celebrated for his performances at high-end restaurants, corporate events, hotel piano lounges, wedding cocktail hours, and private parties. A favorite among event planners, he frequently travels to perform classy cocktail hours at conferences and corporate meetings.
Known for his professionalism, warmth, and reliability, Mark is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences—whether evoking smiles, laughter, nostalgia, or lively sing-alongs. His repertoire is diverse. He can set a sophisticated mood with soft, beautiful ballads, broadway hits or ignite the room with Sinatra, Chicago blues and classic rock anthems.
" "Your piano playing is unbelievably great, as well as your presence in the room. You performed for a full three hours, engaging the audience with a wide range of musical genres—from Sinatra and Dean Martin to Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles, and Steely Dan. The highlight was your rendition of the Winnie the Pooh song, which delighted the children in attendance."

Whenever I play to an audience over 40, I play these beautiful standards and they will either sing-along, reminisce, dance and sometimes cry. That's ok, sometimes so do I.
I love playing Disney songs on the piano because they bring nostalgia, beautiful melodies, and emotional storytelling to life. Their mix of simplicity and complexity makes them fun and rewarding to play, while the uplifting tunes create a magical, feel-good experience. Plus, each song carries a sense of adventure, making every note even more special!
I love to play this great Rock Classics and use a Boss Looper with Drum Track to make it real fun. It's not used in every room I play but the crowded downtown bars love it. The applause track is FAKE. It adds more excitement to the songs. 1) Eye of the Tiger - Survivor 2) Sweet Child or Mine - Guns & Roses 3) Jump - Van Halen 4) Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross 5) Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer 6) September - Earth Wind and Fire Check it out!
I love playing old-time swinging piano in a crowded Chicago bar because it’s an electric mix of energy, nostalgia, and pure joy. The lively rhythms, infectious melodies, and upbeat vibes create an atmosphere where people can’t help but tap their feet, clap, or even dance. There’s something magical about bringing a room to life with classic swing tunes, feeding off the crowd’s energy, and feeling that deep connection between music, history, and the people around you. It’s a timeless, soul-filling experience for both the player and the audience!
I can sing if you like but I also know several wonderful singers who can perform with me as well. This is Janet Planet, one of the great jazz vocalists of the midwest.
